Lost!

Happy eight week birthday, Sam!! To celebrate, Sam and I enjoyed an afternoon out in historic Paducah. While walking along Broadway window shopping, Sam cuddling in his Snugli carrier, we enjoyed the many smiles babies seem to bring. We walked up and then down several blocks, finally stopping in a bakery/deli famous for their cookies. While Sam and I deliberated about what treat daddy would like for dessert, two ladies said "We have been tracking you for blocks!" and held up Sam's shoe. I forgot to mention that Samuel looked very cute today in a UK blue running suit and Nike tennis shoes (that Uncle Jason bought him). After thanking them profusely, I quickly took the other shoe off and stuffed them in a bag containing a chess bar for Klaytor and triple chocolate cookie for me! I almost bought them a cookie, too!
Then as Samuel was still sleeping soundly, I decided that I would walk to my office to check in. After walking several more blocks and through the Executive Inn parking lot, I finally arrived. It was a longer distance than I remembered. Of course, I was also packing about 12 extra pounds! When I arrived, Paulette said, "Sam's missing a sock!" So, I took the other one off, and stuffed it into the bag with the shoes, his hat, and Klaytor's chess bar. (I had eaten my cookie on the way!) After visiting, I headed back to the car. I retraced my steps and found the sock! But, I decided that Sam is not wearing shoes and socks all summer!!!! So, we made it home with everything that we left with, but not without some help from our friends!
