Late Thursday night Chris and Josh arrived to spend the weekend with us so they could fish. We had a hearty dinner of salmon, steak and twice baked potatoes. I woke up at 3 AM with Andrea to help with Sam's feeding. We went back to bed and at 4:35 Andrea knocked the crap out of me and said that the house was shaking. I heard Chris snoring and knew it was either him or a train, but after a few seconds of not hearing a train and Chris, I knew that we were in fact having an earthquake. I immediately called Mom and Dad, Kim and Barry and Andrea's mom and dad, and everyone confirmed our suspicions. We had experienced a 5.2 earthquake at 4:36 AM. Needless to say that neither of us could go back to sleep and we talked until it was time for me to get ready for work. At 10:15 AM we had a 4.5 aftershock. Personally, I think it was either Sam or Uncle Chris having extreme gas but everyone else says differently. Now, we are going to settle in for a slow Friday night. I hope that Uncle Chris does not scar my son, but knowing Chris the way I do, that might be too much to ask for. We love everyone and want you all to know we are safe, and Samuel H. Burden has surived his first earthquake.
