Sam had a wonderful time at the pool tonight. He flirted and splashed and kicked and swallowed pool water to his heart's content. As you can see from tonight's pictures, Sam had some fun with his sippie cup too. He had a great time watching the water come out when he turned it upside down ( I removed the spill proof valve). He was wet from shirt to toes! :) Tonight brought the first doubtful moment for me since beginning to offer Sam solids. For those of you that know me well, you have heard me preach on "baby led" feeding more than once. Let me tell you, it is a whole lot harder to respect that when I'm the mom! Sam ate 1/2 jar of sweet potatoes and a whole jar of peas and cried when I stood up. So, trying to be respectful that he wasn't done, I kept going. He ate 1/2 container of bananas and probaby would have eaten more, but I ran out and gave him his cup. I know, 1 1/2 jars of baby food is not that much, but it sure seemed like a lot to me when just last week he was satisfied with 1/2 a container full. I want Sam to be happy and healthy and try all finds of food, and this is the beginning, so stay posted and pray he likes more vegetables than hid dad! :) For more on baby led feeding and the responsibility of parents in feeding, google Ellyn Satter. Her website is very good! Sam is helping me type this and says he loves his family and many friends!
