As Daddy says, everything is bigger in Texas, and Samuel had a BIG trip to Texas. He did awesome on the plane ride. He slept for the whole ride, and arrived in Dallas safe sound, and happy. There, he met Uncle Cleve, and then traveled to Waco to meet cousins Bruce, Paula, Mattie, and Nick, and Uncle Dan and Aunt Pheobe. Sam had a great time visiting and playing and was in his first parade on the 4th of July. He walked with Mattie and I while Nick rode his bike that he had decorated. It looked very patriotic! Sam watched the fireworks that Nick, Mattie, and Jon set off, but he did not like the firecrackers! He saw snakes (in the pit!), and paralyzed tarantulas in Nick's room- Bruce promised me that they could not escape, and had carrots and cereal every time he turned around because Mama Kay just knew he was starving!! :) Then, on Saturday, it was back to Uncle Cleve's house and home to Paducah on Sunday. Sam did great in the car and proved himself to be a very enjoyable travel companion. He was SO excited to see daddy and Aunt Sissy, and also wants to wish Aunt Neen a belated Happy Birthday!
While Sam stayed with Mama Kay and Paula on Thursday, I got to explore Bruce and Paula's most recent adevuture- Three Crosses Farm. Brice caught a baby armadillo for us to pet, I rode in Nick's go-kart, and climed "Mo Mountain" Luckily, I didn't see any snakes- just fire ants! All in all, Sam had a tremendous trip and can't wait to go back and visit.
Good night, and love from,
The Burdens of Paducah
