Almost....

Dear Samuel,
I can't believe that you are almost TWO years old! At the exact time that you turn two (8:22 PM), I hope that we will be swimming in the awesome pool at Lake Barkley Lodge after having had a great "ELMO" birthday party. Tonight, the festivities will begin with Aunt Jenny's arrival and the making of many cupcakes. Then, tomorrow, you will get to see most of your favorite people in the world! We will miss Peeps and Aunt Sissy, but the rest of your family will be there to watch you blow out your birthday candle like you have practiced.
Your daddy and I have been so blessed by you and your sense of fun and adventure. We love to watch you explore and then welcome you back for cuddles. You love hugs, kisses sometimes, and you usually have a "Love you!" for us. When you woke up at 3:30 AM the other day, I loved getting in bed to cuddle with you! Even when you threw up graham crackers in my hand last night, I couldn't get mad! :) It was a reminder that you don't like strong minty flavors, and especially not after eating graham crackers!
You love to jump off anything and everything and are talking up a storm. You are learning how to pedal your tricyle like such a big boy! Your favorite basketball player is John Wall, and even though you haven't been too hungry for a few days, your favorite food of the week seems to be apples with peanut butter.
Right now, you are probably all cuddled up for a nap, but I am thinking about what a big boy you have become. You are a delight, Sam, and I can't wait to celebrate your birthday with you!
