Mother's Day 2008
Well, I hate to say that we were ready for the weekend to be over, but everyone is tired and ready to start the work week, not. This weekend we celebrated Mother's Day and also had Samuel dedicated at First Baptist Church. Mama Mann arrived on Wednesday night to watch Sam on Thursday and Friday, then on Friday night Jason and Grandma arrived. On Saturday Daddy worked outside during the morning, and around noon we all went to Kim and Barry Ashley's to pick strawberries. On our way home we stopped in Lake City and had barbecue and gave Grandma a chance to look at a huge place that sold concrete statues. When we got home at about 3 pm, Andrea and I went to a nursery and picked up a few things, and when we got back home Jason and I "tried" to set up the camper. I began to cook dinner as well due to the weather starting to look bleak. Ed, Jenny, Tyson and Makinzie arrived on Saturday night and Ed finished properly setting up the camper. We all had a great dinner of chicken kabobs, with twiced baked potatoes and strawberries with bananas. Late on Saturday night Papa Mann and Jon arrived, and I think Papa also tried to finish properly setting up the camper. During the night a huge storm pushed through and the wind howled and the house shook. Aunt Jenny and Mama Mann said they thought a tree was going to fall on them. On Sunday morning when Uncle Ed stepped out of the camper her said it was nice to be on solid ground again. Mom and Dad arrived at about 7:45 and we all finished getting ready for church. Samuel Humphrey Burden was dedicated much to everyone's pleasure, but most importantly he had a pact with the Lord. Andrea and I promised once again to raise him in a Christian home, with all of the love and warmth we both have known from our families. After church we came back to our house and had a HUGE lunch with hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, potato salad and for dessert we had cheesecake with strawberries and a strawberry trifle courtesy of Memaw. It was an awesome weekend, but I think we are all going to sleep soundly tonight. I hope. We love you all and pray for you daily. Love. Samuel, Maximus, Klaytor and Andrea Burden.
